Our Ash trees started showing their beautiful yellow color about two weeks ago – right before a week-long round of rain, wind and dropping temperatures. The Ash trees are always the first trees to turn in the fall. Sadly, they peaked during this past week and dropped their leaves as a strong cold front swept by. We went for a couple of drives over the weekend and found that most trees were showing at least a little color. Some areas had little color yet, while other areas a few miles away, had many trees starting to peak. Patience will pay off as you search for pockets of color, so take your time and make note of any areas you want to visit when the light might be better.
If the weather holds. we will be in for some great fall color. I cannot wait!
